Phantogram Drops New Single
Following the success of their lead single "You Don't Get Me High Anymore," a favorite on your 12 Cuts Above The Rest, Phantogram have dropped a new single from their new album Three, which is set for release in October. The new single "Same Old Blues" sounds completely different. You can check it out below:
Joey Santiago of Pixies Checks Into Rehab
Indie favorites the Pixies have plans to tour near the end of 2016 following the release of a few singles earlier this year and the anticipated release of their new LP Head Carrier by the end of September. However, longtime Pixies guitarist Joey Santiago has recently checked into rehab to alcohol and drug related concerns. The forthcoming tour has not been cancelled.
Julian Casablancas interviews Henry Giroux
Strokes front man Julian Casablancas traveled to Canada to interview professor and cultural theorist Dr. Henry Giroux about government corruption. Casablancas has recently become a more political figure, adding a current events section to the homepage for his label, Cult Records, and including lyrics in the latest Strokes EP with subtle criticisms of Wall Street.
New Oasis Documentary
BBC will air a new documentary on Oasis called Oasis In Their Own Words. The film will feature footage and interviews and footage from throughout the band's career. The documentary is set to air at the beginning of October.
Animal Collective Remixes M83 "Go!"
This week WBRU Exposure artists overlapping, Animal Collective released a remix of "Go! (feat. Mai Lin) off of the latest M83 album, which came out earlier this year. The song is just as pleasant and strange as something you would except from either M83 or Animal Collective individually.
