Panic! frontman Brendon Urie to star in Broadway musical
Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic! At the Disco, will join the cast of Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from May 26th to August 6th. Urie will conclude the Death of A Bachelor Tour to replace current cast member Killian Donnellyin. He will assume the starring role of Charlie Price, a man who inherits a shoe factory on the verge of bankruptcy. Urie said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to be making my Broadway debut with this fantastic company. I’m a huge fan of Kinky Boots and musical theatre, and am honored to be joining the cast.”
Blink-182 release bonus track
Blink-182’s latest release, “Can’t Get You More Pregnant,” is one of many bonus tracks that will be added to the deluxe reissue of their LP California, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 last July. Gorillaz announce North American tour
Gorillaz have announced summer tour dates beginning July 8th and ending on October 15th. Before hitting the road, they’ll host the Demon Dayz Music Festival on June 10th in Margate, England. The ensuing tour will be Gorillaz's first in seven years, and will promote their upcoming album Humanz. Humanz is scheduled for an April 28th release, but the band has already given fans a preview of the tracklist, releasing “Hallelujah Money," “Saturnz Barz," "Ascension," "We Got The Power,” “Andromeda,” and “Let Me Out” as singles. Paramore release new single from upcoming album
This week, Paramore fans were excited to hear “Hard Times,” the band’s first single from their upcoming album. The long-awaited album is set to come out on May 12. The band had been teasing fans with previews on social media, hinting at its release with pictures from the studio. Zac Farro, former drummer for Paramore, confirmed on July 4th of last year that he will be drumming on After Laughter, and the song marks his triumphant return! Early Green Day demos surface
Recordings from Green Day’s early years have recently surfaced online. The three songs featured on the tape are “J.A.R.,” “Having a Blast,” and “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love.” The demos were recorded between 1992 and 1993, just before the release of the album that led to Green Day's breakthrough, Dookie. Green Day will kick off a tour of Australia, New Zealand, and Europe at the end of this month; catch them at their Boston show on August 28th!
