The Shins release spooky new music video
Just in time for Halloween, the Shins released a video for their new song “Dead Alive.” Equipped with guitar-playing skeletons in a surreal dream world, this is the perfect video to get you in the mood for an off-the-beaten-path Halloween party. The band even tweeted that the song is a “Halloween gift while you wait for the album.”
Tame Impala drummer Julien Barbagallo releases album
Going by the name Barbagallo, the French artist released an album this week entitled Grand Chien. The album is sung in French, and track names include “Nouveau Sidobre” and “Oubliez-moi.” This is his second album after Amor de lonh, which was released last year.
Placebo announce upcoming album, tour
London rockers Placebo are currently touring the UK, with plans to release a new record in 2017. To support the forthcoming LP, the band will embark on a US tour! Until the dates are released, tide yourself over by checking out the video for "Jesus' Son," a track from Placebo's retrospective box set A Place For Us To Dream, above.
Green Day and Twenty One Pilots to perform at AMAs
On Wednesday it was announced that Green Day and Twenty One Pilots will perform at the American Music Awards. Twenty One Pilots are also nominated for three categories: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Group, and Favorite Alternative Rock Artist.
Empire of the Sun drop new album
Today, Australian indie/electronic pop duo Empire of the Sun came out with a new album called Two Vines. The band gained popularity after their single “Walking on a Dream” was featured in a Honda commercial. This is their first release since their album Ice on the Dune in 2013.
