1. St. Vincent releases MassEducation
Reworking her 2017 album MASSEDUCTION, St. Vincent released MassEducation, which features piano versions of the same songs. St. Vincent collaborated with Thomas Bartlett, who features on the piano, and recorded this new album shortly after recording MASSEDUCTION. Without the propelling synths and drumbeats of the previous LP, MassEducation showcases St.Vincent’s vocals for a more intimate take on each song. 2. Sampha releases new single “Treasure”
Sampha recently released the single “Treasure,” which is the first new music from the artist since his debut album was released last year. The single is part of the soundtrack for the movie Beautiful Boy and plays over its closing credits. Sampha said that he wrote the song after watching the movie for the first time, which “really resonated with [him] on an emotional level,” Take a listen above.
3. Solange discusses new album
Solange spoke to the New York Times’ T Magazine about her new album, which will be released sometime soon. Although she shared no release date for it, Solange said that upcoming music has “jazz at the core” but features “electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.” Since the release of her 2016 album A Seat at the Table, Solange has also been involved with other performance-based musical projects. 4. Luca Guadagnino adapting Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks into a movie
A recent New Yorker profile of Luca Guadagnino, director of Call Me By Your Name and the upcoming remake of Suspiria, reports that Guadagnino plans to remake Bob Dylan’s classic album Blood on the Tracks into a movie. Richard LaGravenese wrote a screenplay for the movie, which is described as a “multiyear story, set in the seventies, that he and Guadagnino had invented, drawing on the album’s central themes.”

5. Mariah Carey announces new album Caution
Legend and icon Mariah Carey announced in a video her upcoming album Caution, to be released Nov. 16. She has already released two singles from the album, “GTFO” and “With You.” Since the release of her last album in 2014, Carey has launched her exclusive label Butterfly MC Records with Epic Records and signed to new management under Roc Nation.
