The National donating merch profits to charities
The National, the California indie band led by Matt Berninger and his soothing baritone vocals, have been quite politically active this year, both before and after the presidential election. The band announced this week that all of the proceeds from their website sales will go to four organizations: Planned Parenthood, Democracy Now!, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Spoon tease big announcement
A mysterious black-and-white image of a skull recently published on Spoon's social media accounts has caused speculation that the Texas rock group might drop new music soon. Spoon released their last album, They Want My Soul, in 2014. Their latest single, "Shameless," was released back in May. No formal announcement of an upcoming record has yet been confirmed, but keep checking the Wrap-Up for updates!
The Killers reissue Hot Fuss on vinyl
The Killers are reissuing their beloved 2004 debut album Hot Fuss on vinyl this coming January. This news is coming shortly after the 10-year anniversary of their sophomore album Sam's Town, and their latest Christmas single, "I'll Be Home for Christmas." Big fans of alt celebrations around the holidays, The Killers have released a Christmas single almost every year since they emerged on the BRU scene with Hot Fuss.
Natalie Prass releases music video for the holidays
Exposure artist Natalie Prass has just released a new Christmas-themed music video for her single "Everybody's Having Fun (It's Christmas Time)." The angel-voiced singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia is donating all of the proceeds from sales of this holiday jingle to a school in her area, the School of Performing Arts in the Richmond Area (SPARC). Jay Watson shares new single
Australia native Jay Watson, member of the psychedelic indie rock group Tame Impala, is releasing new music with his solo side project, GUM. The new album, Flash in the Pan is out now, and you can check out the trippy music video for lead single "Gemini" below:
