The Postal Service Reunites!
Los Angeles based indie-pop duo The Postal Service, consisting of Death Cab for Cutie’s (and recent solo artist) Ben Gibbard and Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello, developed a huge and dedicated fan base with their 2003 debut album, Give Up. The most popular single “Such Great Heights” catapulted the band to even more popularity when it was featured in Zach Braff’s film, Garden State.
There was promising talk of a second album, but nothing ever came together, and fans were left clinging on to hope that Gibbard and Tamborello would revisit the project in the future.
Well, their prayers have been answered– three days ago the above image appeared on The Postal Service’s official website, and it has now been followed by some more information. The band will be appearing at Barcelona’s music festival, Primavera Sound, and according to the website (via the image below), there is more to come from our beloved depressing-but-hopeful-love-story-telling group. If that means a new album in 2013, we can only wait and see.
