Here is our lineup for the free concert series in Waterplace Park!

All of these great bands will be playing in Waterplace Park on these dates:

New Politics-June 7th

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, New Politics has been active since 2009. They moved to the US when they made a record deal with RCA, and now live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Their self-titled New Politics was released back in 2010, and their latest release this year is A Bad Girl in Harlem. Here’s their hit, ”Harlem“.

Our Rock Hunt 2013 Winners, Torn Shorts-June 14th

Torn Shorts started in June 2010 as a studio project with Josh Grabert, and has since evolved into a unique and energetic live show. During live shows he plays kick drum, tambourine, and harmonia simultaneously; making Torn Shorts a live show not to be missed. Nominated for 2 Phoenix Music Awards in 2012, Torn Shorts has played The Met, Fete, and various other venues around New England.

The 1975-June 21st

Originating in Manchester, England, The 1975′s name actually comes from an old Beat poetry book, interestingly enough. They’ve performed and released under a variety of band names since beginning to play together in 2002, but The 1975 has been making music under their current name just since last year, and within that time released 4 EPs, with a full studio album on the way for this fall. Here’s their hit “Sex“.

The Neighbourhood-June 28th

Just releasing their first full length album I Love You. a month ago, after their two EPs I’m Sorry… and Thank You, this California based band is coming back out to this coast to perform in the WBRU Dunkin Donuts Summer Concert Series. They came in and rocked out in our very own studio back in January. Their cool laid back Cali vibe can be felt especially well in their big hit “Sweather Weather“.

The Mowgli’s-July 5th

Another summery band hailing from California, The Mowgli’s got their name from one of the member’s wolf-dog with the name. They describe the project as “8 friends from Los Angeles who are making music with love, and making love with music”. You can witness this love at their show in Waterplace Park! Their latest EP, Love’s Not Dead, is out now, and features their big hit San Francisco“.

Cold War Kids-July 12th

Another west coast band! Cold War Kids are from Long Beach, California, and this summer they’re bringing their soulful-rock/punk style to Providence. Having just released their fourth and latest album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, last month, we’re excited to have them here after their long international tour the past couple of months. Here’s the first single off their latest, “Miracle Mile“.

All of the shows are FREE, 7:30 PM in the park, so come on out and enjoy some awesome concerts this summer!
