R.E.M. To Release Greatest Hits Album, New Songs
On the heels of their September 21st announcement calling it quits as a band, R.E.M. has come out with the news that a final, greatest-hits album will be released on November 15, 2011. The album, R.E.M., Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982-2011, (that’s a mouthful), is a 40-track retrospective, though it includes three brand new songs, which the band completed after the debut of their last album, Collapse Into Now, which was released this past March.
The three new songs, “A Month of Saturdays,” ”We All Go Back to Where We Belong,” and “Hallelujah,” are the last three tracks on the second of the two-disc set. “We All Go Back to Where We Belong,” will hit airwaves and stores on October 18th.
R.E.M., Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982-2011 can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
