Khari O’Connor aka DJ Knock Out was born in Providence, RI. The Ocean State serves as the genesis of his musical aspirations where his parents embedded a strong sense of commitment and his hustler mentality. During his early years, Knock Out began playing trumpet and saxophone which later evolved into an affinity for the two tables and a mic. Knock Out shared the stage with popular mainstream acts that include Fabolous, Dip Set, Young Jeezy, Future, August Alsina YG, ASAP Ferg and Wiz Khalifa
DJ JUST-1 from Providence RI was introduced to the art of DJing by receiving his first pair of turntables at the age of 10. Through his high school years he worked an internship on radio which landed him his own show continuing the legacy of WBRU 360's "Midnight Madness." Pursuing his career as a professional DJ and radio personality JUST-1 is available for public / private events like night clubs, birthdays, wedding etc.
Hailing from Accra, Ghana (but having lived in 3 continents), K.O brings new meaning to the international man of mystery. He enjoys watching early morning cartoons and baking for the homies. But when he is not cheffing it up, catch K.O on 360, providing New England with today's hottest tracks.
Drew is from the Gold Coast, Australia. He enjoys long walks on the beach, midnight disco parties and a good bowl of nachos so long as it's Sunday and he gets to listen to WBRU. He's always had a passion for music; music is the perfect compliment to every moment in life. There's nothing he loves more than giving you the right music to compliment your Sunday and at WBRU he thinks we got just what you need no matter the situation.
Hails from the land of bad coffee, John Hughes films, and hyperactive-squirrels. If not correcting his caffeination-deprivation within Providence's cosmic collection of baristas and shiny espresso machines, you can likely find Reese on the air. Or you can find him petting his one true love Tobey: a terrier with a mop for hair.
Like most Rhode Islanders, K-Lo thought she’d leave and never look back but decided to stay upon realizing that coffee milk does not exist beyond the confinements of this tiny state. So if she occasionally adds or drops -er endings of her words on air, you have no right to make fun of her because, be honest with yourself, you do it too. A long time BRU listener, her goal is to corrupt the minds of the youth by exposing them to alternative music just as she was
Wendell Gee takes on WBRU's 5 in 95: If there were a movie about your show, what would it be called, and who would you want to play you? "Sleep Deprivation," Jason Statham | First Concert You Ever Went To? Hall and Oates, Boston Common | If you could add any member to the show who would it be? Sarah Silverman | What role would you take on in a zombie apocalypse? Light supper. | If your house were burning and you could only grab one thing, what would it be? This one pair of black engineer boots I have been wearing since the 90's
Just a girl madly in love with all things Bastille and MisterWives. Always seeking an adventure, Witz will never make plans, and instead will set out and just see what life brings. Never to be found in the same place for more than a year (lets see how long she can stay in PVD), Witz enjoys starting fresh and meeting as many different people as she can along her way.
The only thing that makes AV more excited than midnight marathons of 80's sitcoms are the sweet, sultry sounds of alternative. A born-and-raised New Englander, AV's a wicked big fan of Dunkin Donuts, eating snow for breakfast, and the word "wicked." Equipped with a (seriously hilarious) story about that one time he gave Julian Casablancas of The Strokes a high five at Lupo's, AV is stoked to bring good vibes to the Ocean State. If you want to get on his good side, liberal use of the accordion never hurts
A true Miami girl at heart, Chilbo has yet to accept the fact she can't wear flip flops everywhere. Her life's dream is to have Bill Murray play her in a biographical film, and she gets emotional when she listens to The Smashing Pumpkins. Other interests include: coffee, Robert Plant, singing (badly) in the shower, and bringing all the boys to the yard.
