On March 1st, Lightning Bolt put on a live show at the Met in Pawtucket to help raise money for the relief efforts in Japan.
It was great to see so many people come out to support such an important cause and to support a local band that is so active in the Providence community

Shortly before the new year (the current year, that is) came about, indie rockers Minus the Bear performed an intimate and light-hearted set at Rhode Island's newest venue, The Met in Pawtucket. The band was all smiles as they played a fantastic set featuring many of their biggest hits and personal favorites, including well-known crowd-pleasers such as Knights and Burying Luck
The incredibly nice guys of Keep Me Conscious stopped by for a bit to play a new tune as well as discuss plans for a future new release. Keep your ears peeled: the new song sounded fantastic on air and seemed very promising for things to come!
The Met's reopening as a concert venue was certainly sworn in again when the sound of noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells blared through its walls and shook it to its core. Luckily, the venue is completely just redone so it hasn't suffered much damage-- in fact, the band's placement early on the list of acts coming to perform at the site is fortunate in that a large crowd of many faces- rockers, hipsters, dancers, teens, tweens, hippies, college kids, bar-goers- were all pleased with the power and the intimacy of the newly redone venue
Last Friday, They Might Be Giants stopped by to perform and have a conversation in the WBRU studio before their show at Lupo’s that night. Accordion and a drum set were in attendance!
