BROWN BIRD NEEDS YOUR HELP
Our dear friend, David Lamb of Brown Bird, has been diagnosed with leukemia and needs your help.
For those of you who have been tuning in to WBRU over the last week (especially Home BRU’d) you may have heard about our friend, David Lamb of Brown Bird’s battle with a debilitating illness. Brown Bird announced on May 28th that David has been diagnosed with leukemia and began treatment over the weekend.
It has been incredibly touching to witness the outpouring of support from the local music community. Brown Bird surpassed their goal of $40,000 in less than 3 days. That is incredible. All of you made it possible for Brown Bird to return home from Texas and to get Dave started on treating his illness. For that, we thank you.
Now we are asking for your help in another way. Give life. Blood transfusions helped David and they help millions of people every year. We know it is the summer and schedules get hectic, and donating blood may move to the bottom of your list. All of us here at WBRU ask that you take a short time out of your day and donate blood. For information about where you can donate and to schedule an appointment, click HERE.
Also, with David in mind, please consider joining the registry of potential bone marrow donors. 90% of bone marrow donors are between the ages of 18 and 44 – that’s a lot of you! Learn more HERE.
Lastly – Brown BIrd is keeping their fundraiser open until June 16th. David began treatment for leukemia and it is undetermined at this time when Brown Bird will be back at it. Every little bit helps. Click HERE to donate!
Again, thank you for everything you have all done. You’re all amazing.
