The WBRU Promotions Department is seeking undergraduate and graduate students who are looking to gain valuable “hands on” experience in the field of public relations and event management. If you are outgoing, not afraid of being on a microphone in front of a crowd and believe you have what it takes to be a success in radio promotions, we want to hear from you!
The Promotions Department produces, promotes and executes concerts, live broadcasts, movie screenings and other station-related events as well as client-based promotional appearances. Interns assist with the preparation and execution of these events to learn how a radio station operates “behind the scenes” and carry out its marketing plan. The Promotions Internship Program is open only to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. The internship is unpaid and approximately 15 weeks in length. Students enrolled in a degree program in communications, marketing / public relations or business-related fields are preferred. Each intern should be available for a weekly departmental meeting in the evening and work at three on-site promotional events per week. There is some flexibility based on the student’s schedule and the number of hours required by the school to receive credit.
